Job Title: Retail Buyer

We are seeking a skilled Retail Buyer to join our team at Alberta Ltd o/a Pioneer Cannabis. As a Retail Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing merchandise for resale, negotiating prices with suppliers, and maintaining adequate stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends.
  • Arrange products according to planograms to ensure optimal store displays.
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, and credit terms.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and oversee the distribution of merchandise to outlets.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, considering factors such as quality, price, and availability.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail or purchasing environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
