GEMTEC Consulting Engineers & Scientists Limited is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Geotechnical EIT to join our team in Halifax, NS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support on geotechnical, materials, and environmental projects, including field programs, data collection, analysis, and report writing.
  • Design and conduct field investigations, including drilling, logging, and characterization of soils and bedrock.
  • Assist senior staff in performing design and analytical functions on projects involving slope stability, retaining walls, seepage, and settlement analysis.
  • Conduct construction inspections and field testing of soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.
  • Measure and record field data using various equipment, including water quality meters and GPS.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a recognized bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Eligibility for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia (EIT).
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in consulting.
  • Understanding and demonstrated field experience in soil/bedrock classification, drilling methods, and in-situ testing.
  • Familiarity with software packages specific to geotechnical analysis, such as Rocscience and GeoStudio.
