Job Title: Dispensing Optician

We are seeking a skilled Dispensing Optician to join our team at Boardwalk Optometry. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Job Summary:

The Dispensing Optician will be responsible for analyzing client eye measurements, preparing prescriptions, and selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses. You will also assist clients in selecting frames, advise on lens care, and perform various tasks related to lens grinding and polishing.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze client eye measurements and prepare prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses
  • Select and recommend eyeglasses and contact lenses based on client needs and preferences
  • Assist clients in selecting frames and lenses
  • Advise clients on proper lens care and maintenance
  • Perform lens grinding and polishing tasks
  • Cut and edge lenses to fit frames
  • Adjust finished eyeglasses to fit clients
Requirements:
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to distinguish between colors
