Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Systems Technician to join our team at COMNET NETWORKS AND SECURITY INC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security systems, including access control, intrusion, and video surveillance systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and maintain access control and video surveillance systems
  • Configure and troubleshoot security systems
  • Operate a computer and various software packages
  • Install and configure network installations
  • Work with hand tools and small power tools
  • Work in small and confined spaces and heights
  • Be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Identify and solve problems
  • Effectively lead and plan workdays for crews of 1-4
  • Interact positively and effectively communicate with public, IT customers, and staff

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and/or technical degree or certificate
  • Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Basic knowledge of applicable provincial and federal laws and regulations
  • Experience with safe environment by following codes, standards and legal regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified or able to obtain for at least 2 VMS systems
  • Certified or able to obtain for at least 1 access control system
  • Trained and certified for at least 1 camera manufacturer
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
