About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing construction projects for Provincial Government building infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage contracts with contractors and consultants
  • Monitor and update project costs, schedule, and scope
  • Lead project teams in identifying and resolving issues and removing roadblocks
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks
  • Liaise between Public Works and client groups throughout the duration of the projects
  • Ensure safety is of top priority and work is carried out in accordance with the OHS Act and Regulations, as well as Department standards and policies
  • Provide a smooth transition to end users by ensuring the building is ready for occupancy
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering institution with a minimum of six (6) years of experience managing large and complex building construction projects. You must also be actively registered as a Full Member (P.Eng) with Engineers Nova Scotia (ENS). Alternatively, you may have an Architecture degree from an accredited architecture institution with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience managing large and complex building construction projects and be actively registered as a Full Member (Architect) with the Nova Scotia Association of Architects (NSAA).

This is a bargaining unit position initially restricted to current civil service employees represented by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union (NSGEU).
