Position Overview

Join our team at Nor'Wester Motor Inn as a dedicated **Food and Beverage Server**. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to our guests while ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with legal age requirements for serving and mixing alcoholic beverages.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
  • Present bills and process payments through various methods including cash and credit.
  • Articulate menu offerings and daily specials to guests.
  • Adhere to local liquor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tables, trays, and dining areas.
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations on wine selections.
  • Welcome guests, present menus, and respond to questions regarding food and drink options.
  • Manage inventory for wines and related glassware.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations of wines to enhance guest experience.
  • Serve food and beverages with attention to detail.
  • Take and relay orders to kitchen and bar staff efficiently.
  • Assist guests with special needs to ensure their comfort.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service consistently.
Supervision

This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Certifications
  • Possession of a **Serving It Right Certificate** is required.
Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with point of sale systems is essential.
Safety and Security
  • Must be bondable and pass a criminal record check.
Transportation

Public transportation options are limited; reliable transportation is necessary.

Physical Requirements

Ability to handle weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs) is expected.
