We are seeking a skilled Construction Painter to join our team at Terry Pro Painters Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and sanding surfaces to be painted, repairing cracks and holes, and advising consumers on colours and choice of wall coverings. They will also erect scaffolding and swing stages, attach rigging, and apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted
  • Repair cracks and holes
  • Advise consumers on colours and choice of wall coverings
  • Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging
  • Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Use equipment and machinery such as brush painting and roller painting
  • Perform surface preparation tasks such as drywall taping/patching and sandblasting
  • Specialize in coating and application tasks such as sign painting and multi-color finishes
  • Work with wood finishes such as staining
  • Transport equipment and materials
  • Work in a physically demanding environment
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
  • Ability to work outdoors and at heights
  • Ability to distinguish between colours
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye co-ordination
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Own transportation and steel-toed safety boots
  • Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, initiative, reliability, and team player
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a variety of locations, including outdoors and at heights. They will be required to work in a physically demanding environment and will need to be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Language:

The language of work is English.

Hours of Work:

The hours of work will be 30 to 40 hours per week.
