About the Opportunity

The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Educational Assistant - Casual Supply List. This role involves providing support to students with diverse needs, including behavior, safety, medical, and physical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with students individually and in groups to provide support and assistance
  • Assist with lifting, toileting, positioning, and transferring children and equipment
  • Apply Behavior Management Systems (BMS) techniques as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal
Requirements
  • Education: Educational Assistant Diploma, or a combination of formal education and work experience deemed equivalent by the Board
  • Post-Secondary Degree in a related field of study
  • Valid Behavior Management Systems certification
  • Proven ability and recent experience working with students with special needs and behavioral disabilities
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Training
  • Lifting/Positioning Training
  • Flexibility, patience, empathy, and ability to work closely with students, classroom teachers, parents, and administration
  • Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position
  • Access to a reliable method of transportation
