Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Dalhousie Varsity Animal Hospital. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Create a welcoming environment for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Contribute to a positive, low-stress atmosphere for patients, adapting to changing situations with ease and poise.
  • Take initiative and work independently, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of reception areas, pet holding areas, and common spaces.
  • Develop a strong understanding of veterinary services, medical office procedures, and compassion-based care.
  • Possess a certificate in Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) program, or be willing to pursue certification.
