Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at PerkinElmer. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development, installation, and maintenance of electronics for new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop electronics for new and existing products.
  • Conduct testing and evaluations to ensure design verification and validation.
  • Apply technical knowledge to identify and resolve complex problems spanning multiple technical disciplines.
  • Develop and propose technology concepts to improve existing products or new product designs.
  • Work closely with scientists and engineers to prove out designs and ensure successful product launches.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve technical issues and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Develop and implement measures to support business initiatives and strategies.
  • Apply innovative thinking to develop advanced methodologies and technologies.
  • Provide technical insight to minimize risk and maximize opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of recent design engineering experience in a high-technology environment.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Mixed signal design experience is mandatory.
  • High voltage power supply design experience is a strong asset.
  • Ability to create and analyze advanced analog and digital circuit designs using state-of-the-art components.
  • Experience with IPC standards and PCB manufacturing from an electronic design perspective.
  • Hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting PCBAs is mandatory.
  • Ability to utilize industry-standard CAD packages for rapid transition to fully functional and reliable hardware.
  • Effective knowledge and use of high-level design languages is essential.
  • Ability to use advanced simulation and analysis tools in problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes to develop cost-effective and reliable designs.
  • Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot with standard test equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of EMI-EMC management techniques to pass compliance testing of electronic equipment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
