Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Dairy Queen Grill & Chill. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service team, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and high-quality food products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Food Service Staff: Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that all food products are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Train and Develop Staff: Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, as well as provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure that staff are meeting the required standards.
  • Inventory Management: Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation, ensuring that we have sufficient stock to meet customer demand.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Customer Service: Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring that all customers receive exceptional service.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing regular reports to management.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports to management, highlighting any issues or concerns.
  • Work Scheduling: Establish work schedules for food service staff, ensuring that all staff are adequately covered during peak periods.
Supervision

As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising a team of 5-10 staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are meeting the required standards.

Support for Diversity and Inclusion
  • Support for Persons with Disabilities: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, providing access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Support for Youth: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, providing opportunities for career development and growth.
  • Support for Veterans: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Veterans, providing support and guidance to help them transition into the workforce.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and with respect.
Work Environment

We are a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and high-quality food products. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be working in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a food service environment.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
