Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to become part of the Labour & Delivery unit. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the well-being of patients in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Obstetrics/Medical/Surgical include:
Deliver advanced perinatal nursing care by performing thorough assessments of both the client and fetus, while also providing care to other assigned medical/surgical patients, either independently or collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Enhance the quality of life from the perspective of clients and their families. Engage in consultation and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Commit to continuous improvement and adopt best practices in nursing. Maintain and enhance your clinical competencies. Participate in designated hospital committees and approved research initiatives as assigned.About the Community

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of an accredited advanced nursing specialty program in perinatal nursing or two (2) years of recent, relevant experience.Knowledge & Skills
Comprehensive understanding of nursing theory and practice within a client-centered care model. Familiarity with BCCNM's standards for nursing practice. Proven ability in nursing practice related to the designated client group. Competence in planning and implementing care strategies. Ability to assess client responses to care and respond appropriately. Skill in adapting to unexpected situations, problem-solving, prioritizing tasks, and managing conflicts. Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare colleagues. Ability to educate and counsel clients and their families. Leadership skills demonstrated through initiative and independence. Capability to mentor new staff and students. Proficiency in clinical techniques and the use of relevant equipment. Skills in CPR and NRP techniques. Competence in using computerized client care information systems. Physical ability to fulfill the duties of the position.Closing Remarks
