About the Role

AKS Investment Ltd. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team. As a Drywall Installer, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall to create smooth surfaces for painting and finishing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cut and Install Metal Corner Beads: Protect exterior corners with metal corner beads, ensuring a secure and durable finish.
  • Fabricate and Install Suspended Metal Ceiling Grids: Create acoustical and coffered ceilings by installing suspended metal ceiling grids and placing panels in position.
  • Fill Joints and Nail Indentations: Use joint compound to fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks, ensuring a smooth finish.
  • Finish Corners and Angles: Create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required, to enhance the overall appearance of the drywall.
  • Mix Plaster Ingredients: Prepare plaster ingredients to the desired consistency for a smooth and even application.
  • Tape Over Joints: Use a taping machine to tape over joints, embedding the tape in compound for a secure finish.
  • Install Acoustic Tile and Hangers: Install acoustic tile and hangers for suspended ceilings, ensuring a quiet and comfortable environment.
  • Install Metal Stud Framing and Furring: Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools.
  • Install Vapour Barriers and Insulation: Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation to ensure a comfortable and energy-efficient environment.
  • Work at Heights: Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to install drywall and other materials.
  • Erect and Install Scaffolding: Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to ensure safe access to work areas.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in drywall installation.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
