We are currently seeking a Turnaround Project Controls Specialist to enhance our team.

In this role, reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will play a vital part in all stages of the Turnaround lifecycle. Your responsibilities will encompass project initiation, cost estimation, funding management, performance evaluation, and project closure. As a key member of the Core team, your primary aim will be to positively impact the scheduling and financial outcomes of the Turnaround projects you are involved with. Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and other SAP visualization tools (such as Power BI) is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking, independence, and the ability to provide precise and timely information, enabling team members to make informed decisions swiftly. This position also requires the ability to present data confidently and mentor various stakeholder groups.

Essential Qualifications:
  • A Degree in a relevant Technical or Business discipline, or a Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and SAP, particularly SAP Project System
  • Preferred: Certification from the American Association of Cost Engineering (AACE) or completion of relevant coursework
  • Proven understanding of standards, practices, and procedures applicable to work activities
  • Exemplary coaching and influencing capabilities
  • Strong collaboration skills to foster positive relationships with diverse groups
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues using a variety of standard methods, demonstrating sound judgment in data selection, classification, and analysis
  • Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to a dynamic array of internal and external partners
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain project work breakdown structures, networks, and activities within SAP
  • Create purchase requests with necessary documentation, vendor quotes, and in accordance with supply chain management protocols
  • Input forecasts into SAP by the designated deadlines
  • Prepare and submit month-end journal entries in alignment with financial standards and timelines
  • Compile, consolidate, and analyze project or program reports for all stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to all financial policies, confirming that expenditures align with capital and/or expense guidelines
  • Facilitate the closure of purchase orders, financial closing, asset listing for Finance, and SAP project closure
  • Safeguard the integrity of investment decisions by comprehending project scope and addressing deviations
  • Assist in formulating long-term plans and budgets to gain a comprehensive understanding of planned expenditures
  • Deliver detailed reports on funding progress, trends, and forecasts
Work Environment & Additional Information:
  • This position is office-based.
  • Standard working hours consist of a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday.
