Accounts Payable Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team at Community Living BC. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify and process accounts payable transactions in accordance with established financial policies and procedures.
  • Examine service contracts, expenditure payments, and invoices to ensure payments are accurate and compliant.
  • Identify and resolve questionable transactions in collaboration with supervisors and regional staff.
  • Review reports on contract payments and ensure contract modifications and renewals are accurately calculated.
  • Maintain spreadsheets on various issues and perform general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Assemble invoices into batches, key data into the computerized system, and balance to control reports generated by the system.
  • Educate branch contacts on invoice processing, contracts, amendments, business travel accounts, purchasing cards, i-expenses, and petty cash.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Grade 12 and post-secondary courses in accounting and business, plus three years of experience in a complex accounts payable environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Experience in reconciling accounts.
