Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Cardiology department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic tests and procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, holter and/or event monitor testing, and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) testing.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions in preparation for testing.
  • Scan and analyze ECG, stress, and holter monitor test strips, and select and assess portions of test strips for interpretation by medical staff.
  • Under supervision, assist with Pacemaker interrogation, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Enter patient test information into Meditech to provide Electronic Health Records database for client/patient files.
  • Maintain appropriate files and reports according to established department procedures/policies.
  • Demonstrate ECG testing procedures and operation of related equipment to students and new staff.
  • Provide orientation and training to ECG staff and other hospital staff as directed.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and replacing items as required, and complete requisitions for repair using established procedures.
  • Distribute patient reports to appropriate wards and/or departments.
  • Provide input and assist with the development, implementation, and update of department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level.
  • Two years of recent related experience.
  • Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certified.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.

  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
