Job Summary

Spark Power is seeking a highly skilled Wind Turbine Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations and maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our wind turbines across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to various locations across Canada to perform diagnostic testing, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on wind turbines.
  • Climb wind turbines (up to 130m) to perform tasks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Complete reports, checklists, and hazard analyses as required.
  • Participate in company and customer health, safety, and training programs.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to our partners in the industry.
  • Follow all health and safety policies to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
  • Schedule and perform routine maintenance on wind turbine generators, including inspections, greasing, cleaning, torqueing, and tensioning of bolted connections.
  • Apply lockout/tagout procedures as required.
  • Perform electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting.
  • Implement work procedures for specific scopes of work to inspect, repair, and maintain wind turbine components.
  • Track and communicate client and company documentation on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a clean work area, equipment, and tooling.
  • Perform other daily work requirements as directed by site management.
  • Maintain required training certifications for the position (Fall Protection/Rescue Training, LOTO, First Aid/CPR/AED, etc.).
Requirements
  • Valid GWO Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, First Aid, ART, BTT, SGTT, GE Tech Essentials, GE Maintenance, GE Fundamentals, SGRE Basic Profile, SGRE Maintenance Profile, SGRE Troubleshooter Profile, Vestas Training, Acciona Training, Borescope Training, and Fiberglass Repair Training certifications.
  • 2 years of wind industry experience or equivalent experience in wind construction, annual and semi-annual maintenance, base bolt tensioning, oil changes, electrical troubleshooting, retrofits, blade/fiberglass repair, major component exchange, transformer maintenance, and substation maintenance.
