Instructional Resource Specialist

**School District #23 (Central Okanagan)** invites experienced educators to apply for the position of **Instructional Resource Specialist**. This role is responsible for supporting the development of curriculum and instructional resources in Elementary, Middle, or Secondary Schools.
Key Responsibilities:- **Collaborate with Staff**: Work closely with teachers and staff to co-plan, co-teach, and support the integration of technology with research activities related to classroom subject areas.
- **Literacy Leadership**: Assume a leadership role in collection development and management, promoting reading and supporting literacy goals in schools.
- **Collaborative Model Implementation**: Participate in the implementation of the school-level Collaborative Model of Support and work to develop the School District Attributes for the 21st Century in all students.
- **Technology Integration**: Utilize technology for planning, attendance monitoring, communication, classroom instruction, and reporting purposes.
- **Training and Experience**: Possess training and/or experience as an Instructional Resource Specialist.
- **Professional Certification**: Hold a British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate.
- **Coursework**: Completed coursework in inquiry-based learning, collaborative planning and teaching, information literacy, curriculum design and implementation, multi-media resources, and learning technologies.
- **Certificate or Diploma**: Possess a Certificate or Diploma in Education- Instructional Resource Specialist.
- **Teaching Experience**: Two years of successful classroom teaching experience.
- **Quality Assessment Practices**: Training/experience in Quality Assessment practices (e.g., differentiated instruction, criterion-referenced grading, Assessment For, As and Of Learning).
- **Inclusive Learning**: Experience in differentiating and providing inclusive learning opportunities that reflect the unique needs and interests of all students.
- **Aboriginal Ancestry**: Aboriginal ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal).
The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $57,972 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
