Culinary Support Specialist - MRHH Food Services (Long Term Care)
Casual Part Time Position
The Culinary Support Specialist plays a vital role in the Food and Nutrition Services department by executing various food service and sanitation responsibilities. This includes the cleaning of patient service dishes and Food Services equipment, assisting in food preparation for patients as needed, and performing general cleaning tasks within the department.
Required Qualifications:
- A current and valid Food Safety Certification from Public Health.
- Enrollment in or completion of a Food Service Worker program from an accredited institution.
- Physical capability to maneuver loaded food carts, endure prolonged standing, walk significant distances, work in refrigeration and freezer environments, and lift heavy items.
- Proficient command of the English language.
- Adherence to WHMIS, HACCP, and FIFO protocols and guidelines.
Additional Attributes:
- Competence in reading and adhering to standardized recipes and production sheets.
- Understanding of therapeutic dietary requirements.
- A proven record of reliable attendance.
- Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with safety policies and procedures that promote a secure and inclusive environment for all.
- Ability to fulfill the essential responsibilities of the role.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous.
