About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join our team at BC Legal Management Association. As a Family Law Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance to clients in the area of family law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and reasonable legal advice and guidance to clients.
  • Support principals with complex client matters, including attending court and alternative dispute resolution attendances.
  • Liaise with lawyers, paralegals, legal assistants, clients, and other professionals to prepare materials for trials, applications, conferences, and other proceedings.
  • Assist clients with preparing financial statements, affidavits, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Research legal issues and draft various legal documents, including letters, pleadings, applications, briefs, and factums.
  • Maintain frequent contact with clients throughout their legal process.
  • Meet with potential new clients and assess their needs for legal representation.
Requirements
  • Law Degree with 6+ years experience.
  • Member of the BC Bar in good standing.
  • Ability to run a caseload from beginning to end.
  • Proactive and organized work style.
  • Ability to take on a mentorship role.
  • Ability to establish clear direction to others and comfortable with task delegation.
