Telecommunications Professor

Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified individual to teach a course on data transmission networks. The successful candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and data networking, with experience in teaching and research.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach a course on data transmission networks, covering topics such as network fundamentals, data communication protocols, and internet protocols.
• Develop and implement curriculum materials, including lectures, assignments, and exams.
• Assess student learning and provide feedback.
• Stay current with developments in the field of telecommunications and data networking.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a field related to the course, such as telecommunications, computer science, or engineering.
• Experience in teaching and research in the field of telecommunications and data networking.
• Strong knowledge of data transmission protocols, including IP, TCP/IP, and other relevant protocols.
• Experience with network security and management.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to students.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a field related to the course.
• Experience with emerging technologies in the field of telecommunications and data networking.
• Knowledge of network management and security.
