Building Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team at NEST INVESTMENTS. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Building Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and adjustments to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Contractor Management: Coordinate with contractors for repairs and maintenance of our facilities.
- Appliance Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment.
- Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, maintaining a high level of productivity and attention to detail.
- Snow and Ice Removal: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safe access to our facilities.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Physical Demands: Physically demanding role requiring repetitive tasks and manual labor.
- Personal Suitability: Strong initiative, organized, and able to work independently.
- Cultural Competency: Participate in cultural competency training and awareness programs to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous employees.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous employees.
- Community Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations.
- Elder Support: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous employees.
- Language: English.
- Hours of Work: 35 hours per week.
