About the Role

The Building Maintenance Specialist is a key member of our facilities team at BGIS, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This includes performing routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, as well as troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Respond to emergency calls and perform repairs as needed to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory management.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and best practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus relevant trade training and/or certification.
  • Experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC and plumbing.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
