We are seeking a dedicated Aquatics Program Supervisor to take on a full-time role within our Association, stationed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Chippewa location.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Aquatics, the Aquatics Program Supervisor will be tasked with the planning and execution of programs and services in alignment with YMCA policies, procedures, and standards, while ensuring participant satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and leadership on the pool deck during scheduled aquatic programs.
- Organize and schedule activities, programs, and special events.
- Address inquiries regarding programs in a timely manner.
- Serve as a positive role model for all participants.
- Engage in the recruitment and hiring process, including job postings, interviews, and reference checks.
- Lead staff onboarding, including orientation, training, and mentorship.
- Manage course creation, registration, and waitlists.
- Communicate effectively with guardians of program participants.
- Complete incident reports for submission to the supervisor.
- Ensure timely completion of all relevant documentation.
- Incorporate SAM Standards into daily operations.
- Foster relationships with members and guests, promoting the YMCA as a charitable entity.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
- Current National Lifeguard certification (NL) in good standing.
- YMCA Swim Instructor Certification, YMCA Swim Instructor Trainer, and/or Lifesaving Society Instructor and examiner preferred.
- Aquafit instruction experience preferred.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a leadership capacity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification.
- Recent and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector.
