Private Equity Funds Analyst

Join our team of experienced professionals in the Private Markets group at Manulife Investment Management.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Private Equity Funds Analyst to join our team. As a Private Equity Funds Analyst, you will be responsible for evaluating new private equity fund investment opportunities and assisting with monitoring fund investments over their holding period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the due diligence of new private equity fund commitments, including analyzing the performance of the private equity firm's past funds and investments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of investment reports by summarizing findings from the analysis and providing a detailed description of the firm's investment strategy and track record.
  • Participate in the monitoring of fund investments, including tracking the performance of the underlying portfolio companies and participating in update calls and in-person meetings.
  • Assist in the aggregation and reporting of portfolio level data for stakeholders, including third-party investors and Manulife's internal departments.
  • Participate in ad-hoc research projects, including helping identify new firms to target for investment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data and communicate key findings through strong business writing and other communication skills.
  • Desire to learn, and the ability to be flexible and creative and to maintain close attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated project and time management skills.
  • Completion (or enrollment) in the CFA program considered an asset, but not required.
