About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Structural Engineering Group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead small to medium-sized projects, or take significant roles in the delivery of large projects
  • Perform engineering calculations and assessments for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures, under the supervision of Senior Engineers
  • Perform calculations using latest design software and advanced finite element modelling underpinned by a sound understanding of basic principles
  • Demonstrate strong capabilities in seismic design, as well as intimate knowledge of the NBC-AE
  • Manage and coordinate projects with clients, architects, and other disciplines
  • Oversee the execution of efficient and accurate project deliverables to exceptional standards
  • Oversee preparation of detail drawings, sections, and standard details, specifications, and ensure quality delivery
  • Write technical reports and prepare proposals
  • Occasional travel to conduct field reviews, inspections, and condition assessments within Canada
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer with APEGA
  • 8+ years' experience in Structural Engineering
  • Computational design skills, and particular strength in the following software - ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, SAFE, and/or Robot. Familiarity with Dynamo, Grasshopper, etc., considered a bonus
  • Design experience on a variety of project types, including institutional, healthcare, science, transportation, industrial, or private sector commercial or residential
  • Excellent organizational and technical writing skills
  • Valid driver's license considered an asset
