Global Oil Gas Senior Environmental Engineer

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Environmental Engineer for Oil and Gas Refineries. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to work under Decarbonization and Sustainability Division to render environmental protection and performance aspects.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor facility operating and business plans to ensure alignment with environmental protection policy and all applicable environmental policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Identify deviations and develop solutions to environmental problems to mitigate environmental risks and improve compliance with company and governmental regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive environmental assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Develop, review, and implement Greenhouse Gas (GHG) management programs, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Conduct internal GHG assurance audits and provide support for facilities third-party GHG audits.
- Monitor solids and chemical disposal to ensure safe environmental protection in compliance with governmental regulations.
- Monitor air quality, wastewater, and water conservation and waste management performance.
- Establish environmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) targets aligned with company environmental policies and strategies.
- Develop, review, and deploy facilities environmental management systems in alignment with ISO 14001 standards.
- Develop and maintain environmental procedures and guidelines.
- Conduct internal environmental performance benchmarking studies among oil and gas refineries.
- Lead and support the development of emissions monitoring, tracking, and reduction solutions.
- Stay updated on international and regional regulations concerning emissions, waste management, water, and wastewater, and GHG to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including field engineers, top-level executives, and regulatory bodies, to align with industry needs.
- Analyze complex datasets related to emissions, equipment efficiency, and other relevant parameters to derive actionable insights for enhancement.
- Oversee the program lifecycle from ideation to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and continuous improvement.
- Organize technical exchange workshops among oil and gas refineries.
- Develop and deliver training materials to promote environmental awareness among refinery personnel.
Requirements:
- This role requires the candidate to permanently relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in oil and gas refineries or petrochemical industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the oil & gas refining industry and its environmental challenges and risks.
- Familiarity with global and governmental environmental policies, regulations, and standards.
- EPI/QEP certification is preferred.
- Expertise in technical sustainability data calculation methodology and limitations.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in environmental engineering.
- Understanding of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and its requirements.
- Experience in developing decarbonization roadmaps, GHG emission baselines, and target setting.
- Proficient in computer skills and presentation abilities.
- Strong management and coordination skills.
- Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
