Job Title: Heavy Equipment Service Technician

Brandt is actively looking for a Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join our team, primarily focusing on the repair and upkeep of construction and forestry machinery in a workshop setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assess the operational condition of heavy machinery, diagnose issues, disassemble/reassemble components, procure necessary parts, and perform repairs.
  2. Utilize tools and materials safely and efficiently.
  3. Employ various instruments, hand tools, power tools, and computer systems in the repair process.
  4. Document all machine details, actions performed, and time spent on work orders accurately.
  5. Evaluate potential hazards during service tasks and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  6. Utilize software applications and information systems (e.g., John Deere Service Advisor) for maintenance documentation, inspections, and diagnostics.
  7. Reference parts catalogs to identify and order required components.
  8. Conduct road tests on equipment and verify the functionality of attachments as necessary.
Essential Skills:
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with customers, service teams, and branch staff.
  • Physical Requirements: Capability to meet physical demands including climbing, lifting overhead, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor skills.
  • Lifting Capacity: Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
  • Prior mechanical experience in a heavy equipment setting is advantageous.
  • Certification as a Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment Technician trade or an equivalent recognized trade is preferred.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence is essential.
