About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Web Development Specialist to join our team at IT Minds Inc. as a key member of our software development team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients to understand and document website requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of their needs and expectations.
  • Design and develop software code, integrating various technologies to create efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Maintain and update existing computer programs, making modifications as required to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop mock-ups and storyboards to visualize website designs and layouts, ensuring a user-centric approach.
  • Source and organize information, designing the appearance, layout, and flow of websites to meet client needs.
  • Assist in requirements gathering from clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of their requirements.
  • Create and optimize content for websites using various graphics, databases, animation, and software tools.
  • Conduct tests and quality controls to ensure software meets quality and security standards.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients after project completion, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
Technical Requirements
  • Proficiency in Java and JavaScript programming languages.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented programming languages and software development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with image editing software and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of HTML editing software and website creation and management tools.
  • Experience with database management and software development.
  • Proficiency in WordPress and other relevant technologies.
Experience and Education
  • 1-2 years of experience in software development and web development.
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees.
  • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, such as housing, transportation, and storage.
  • Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees, including language training and skills development.
  • Recruit newcomers and refugees who were displaced by conflict or natural disasters.
  • Support foreign credential recognition and provide mentorship programs for newcomers and refugees.
Support for Indigenous People
  • Participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people.
  • Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations.
  • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
Support for Mature Workers
  • Participate in government or community programs that support mature workers.
  • Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
  • Provide awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
  • Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for mature workers.
  • Provide phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload.
  • Offer phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring.
  • Provide workspace accommodations to meet the physical needs of mature workers.
  • Offer resources to help mature workers plan their retirement.
Support for Visible Minorities
  • Participate in government or community programs that support members of visible minorities.
  • Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
  • Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
