Position Overview

The successful candidate will report to the Clinical Services Manager and work closely with the Professional Leader to deliver exceptional occupational therapy services within a client-focused framework. As an Occupational Therapist in the Outpatient Neuro Rehabilitation program, you will evaluate referred clients and create tailored treatment plans that may encompass cognitive-perceptual, physical rehabilitation, and self-care programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct patient care, providing education to patients and their families, and offering consultation within the outpatient team.
  • Collaborate effectively with physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists, home and community care coordinators, and occupational therapy assistants.
  • Oversee the work of Occupational Therapy Assistants, volunteers, and students.
  • Engage in program meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives as necessary.
  • Adhere to the standards of professional practice and ethical guidelines as set forth by the regulatory body.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent.
  • Registered and in good standing with the relevant regulatory college.
  • Preferred membership in professional associations.
  • Proficient in English, with strong reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in providing evidence-based occupational therapy assessment and treatment for neurological patients.
  • Experience in psychosocial, cognitive, perceptual, and physical health assessments and interventions focused on occupational performance.
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of caseloads.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to travel and work across various sites as required.
