Job Summary

This role is based in a construction project environment with our client, Cenovus. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance to more senior staff in the coordination, scheduling, quantity surveying, reporting, and quality control functions of a project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of duties including but not limited to administrative tasks, update schedules and budgets, maintain cost control, and monitor labor, material, and equipment activities on the project.
  • Work with Site Managers/Project Managers/on-site Superintendents to update project schedule and budget to identify potential construction issues.
  • Assist with the review and coordination of project-specific safety plans.
  • Attend all project team meetings, document team meetings, action items, and other pertinent project deliverables/decisions.
  • Attend all regular meetings, record meeting minutes, and present updates.
  • Ensure that project site and company assets are secure, and maintain a safe and respectful working environment at all times.
  • Monitor project change management process, identify change events, submit change notices, track changes, and optional changes in project scope, and present to the Project Manager when required.
  • Provide timely progress reports to Project Manager.
  • Monitor and update schedules with the assistance of the team.
  • Assist with drawings, drawing records, revisions, site instructions, and change orders.
  • Obtain and provide written documentation for all clarifications and instructions.
  • Conduct the Client Satisfaction Survey prior to project closeout.
  • Material take-offs and procurement.
Requirements
  • A technical diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or significant experience in a related mechanical field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a related industry.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Project Controls systems experience is an asset.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Proficient using scheduling and project management software.
Working Conditions
  • Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for environmental conditions.
