Overview

HF Sinclair is currently seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to join our dedicated team. This role is essential for ensuring the operational reliability of our production facilities. The ideal candidate will be a safety-oriented professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various industrial machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute installation and repair tasks on a range of rotating machinery, such as pumps, compressors, steam turbines, and gearboxes.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for mechanical systems.
  • Engage in discussions regarding failure analysis and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Utilize shop tools including lathes and milling machines effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment history and maintenance activities.
  • Plan and assess job requirements, including material selection.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.
  • Provide assistance to other maintenance trades as needed.

Qualifications

  • Fundamental knowledge of rotating and reciprocating machinery is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar industrial environment is advantageous.

Educational Requirements

  • A valid Certificate of Qualification for Millwright is mandatory.
  • A Red Seal Certificate of Qualification is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficient in operating various shop equipment.
  • Capability to restore equipment to original manufacturer standards.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic team.
  • Good housekeeping practices and organizational skills.
  • Experience in planning and estimating is a plus.
  • Familiarity with vibration analysis and laser alignment tools is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of SAP and computer literacy (MS Office, Windows) is preferred.
  • Understanding of W.H.M.I.S. and OH&S regulations is essential.

Work Environment

  • The role requires working in various temperature conditions and exposure to diverse weather elements.
  • Candidates must be prepared to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Overtime may be necessary to meet operational demands.

Physical Demands

This position involves heavy lifting and working at elevated sites, necessitating physical stamina and adaptability to different work environments.
