Director of Finance Job Description

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our team. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the finance and accounting functions, as well as supporting operational and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute full cycle accounting processes and internal controls that are consistent with a middle market business
  • Prepare the month-end package for management and the private equity sponsor, including financial statements, variance analysis for budget to actual, and updates on operational and strategic initiatives
  • Lead the budget process and prepare quarterly rolling forecasts, perform cash flow forecasting and management of cash flows
  • Manage banking relationships and loan covenants
  • Support annual year-end audit
  • Institute management accounting for the manufacturing environment where required
  • Synthesize data from all departments to build business cases for product development initiatives and other capital expenditures plans
  • Serve as a business partner to operational and strategic decision makers by providing financial support and tools
Requirements:
  • Designated CA, CPA, CMA, or CGA
  • Ability to exercise sound professional judgement and decision making on financial, business, and organizational issues
  • Proactive, self-motivated, decisive, driven and committed to organizational success
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to consider the 'big picture' in the decision-making process
  • Persuasive and understands how to engage and successfully lead/support others through change
  • Financial acumen and demonstrated ability to identify risk
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Financially savvy and applies balanced risk management analysis
  • Makes sound commercial judgments and actions to ensure financial success
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
