Overview of the Role

The Inventory Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the management and regulation of stock within our warehouse, ensuring that processes are continuously improved to enhance efficiency.

This position serves as a potential stepping stone towards a leadership role within Supply Chain, Maintenance, or Manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile warehouse inventory on a daily basis.
  • Conduct daily counts of all full goods in the warehouse and reconcile with SAP inventory records.
  • Investigate and resolve daily inventory discrepancies.
  • Reconcile daily, monthly, and annual inventory figures with the SAP system.
  • Identify and report products nearing expiration.
  • Manage, execute, document, and report on inventory audits.
  • Communicate potential control improvements to the Manager.
  • Analyze and pinpoint areas for enhancing Internal Controls in a cost-effective manner.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on inventory Internal Controls in line with the Controls Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Provide tailored training on policies, procedures, and controls to facility staff.
  • Assist in coordinating the annual independent inventory schedule for full goods counts.
  • Review daily Inventory Variance Reports and collaborate with the Inventory Analyst to resolve issues.
  • Support the standardization and enforcement of financial and operational control policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional duties or special projects as assigned by the department Manager.
  • Ensure proper documentation to support all audit activities, including Internal Control Audits and Independent Counts.
  • Aid in the training and resolution of identified internal control issues.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent business experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Distribution, Warehouse Operations, Finance, Accounting, or Audit is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is considered an asset.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull over 50 pounds, and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
