Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Inventory Management Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing and regulating stock levels within our facilities while driving process enhancements as needed. Candidates with experience in raw material and product counts, along with proficiency in SAP, are highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee scheduling, manage overtime records, coordinate vacation plans, handle job postings, and perform various administrative duties.
- Ensure daily maintenance and reconciliation of warehouse inventory.
- Conduct daily counts of finished goods and raw materials, reconciling these figures with SAP inventory data.
- Investigate and resolve daily inventory discrepancies.
- Reconcile daily, monthly, and annual inventory figures with the SAP system.
- Identify and report products nearing expiration.
- Lead and document inventory audits across distribution centers, production facilities, equipment service centers, and fleet operations, including conducting exit meetings with management.
- Communicate common control opportunities to various levels of management and ensure actionable plans are developed, implemented, and maintained.
- Analyze and pinpoint areas for improvement in Internal Controls, ensuring a favorable cost/benefit ratio.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert on inventory Internal Controls in line with the established Controls Policy and Procedures Manual.
- Provide tailored training on policies, procedures, and controls at the facility level.
- Manage the annual independent inventory schedule for various categories including Cold Drink Equipment, Parts, and Raw Materials.
- Review monthly Inventory Variance Reports and collaborate with the Internal Control Director and Finance Directors to address and resolve issues.
- Assist in standardizing and ensuring compliance with financial and operational control policies and procedures.
- Support the Internal Controls Team and Security Manager in fraud investigations as required.
- Organize training schedules for inventory requirements based on annual assessments or identified needs.
- Undertake additional duties or special projects as assigned by the Director of Internal Controls.
- Maintain proper documentation to support all audit activities, including Internal Control Audits and Independent Counts.
- Aid in the training and resolution of all identified internal control issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent business experience.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing, distribution, warehouse operations, finance, accounting, or auditing is preferred.
- At least 2 years' experience in a sales, distribution, or warehousing environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills are essential.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
- Supervisory experience is considered an asset.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull over 50 pounds, and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
