Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound examinations on patients, utilizing your expertise in abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, small parts, and echocardiography sonography.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform ultrasound examinations on patients, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Prepare patients for testing, including explaining procedures and monitoring their comfort level.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic sonographic equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with radiologists and cardiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
- Participate in quality control activities, including equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest sonography techniques and technologies, participating in ongoing education and training.
- Graduate of a recognized training program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and Diagnostic General Sonography.
- Certification with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Completion of Intravenous Therapy training course or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing workload effectively.
