About Our OpportunityWe are seeking a skilled Mechanic II to join our Fleet Services Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing equipment failure, repairing, rebuilding, and adjusting a variety of government mobile machinery and equipment used for road maintenance activities.
Primary Accountabilities- Diagnose equipment failure and perform repairs, rebuilds, and adjustments on government mobile machinery and equipment.
- Assist with field repairs as required and perform other related duties to complete equipment repairs, modifications, and/or preventative maintenance.
You must have a Provincial Certificate of Qualification in the Truck and Transport Trade and five (5) years of diversified mechanical experience. A valid Nova Scotia driver's license with Air Brakes and an acceptable driving record are also required. Knowledge of computer-controlled diagnostic technology and computer competency are considered assets.

Working ConditionsWork is performed in a mechanical repair environment occasioned by noise, smoke, and gas fumes, and at times adverse weather conditions while operating in a field environment. Considerable standing, lifting, carrying, and moving about is a requirement of this position.
