Lead Mine Operations

As a key member of the Agnico Eagle team, you will be responsible for overseeing the mine department and ensuring the successful execution of mining operations. This role requires a strong leader who can promote a culture of safe production and environmental awareness.

  • Develop and implement mine designs, plans, and schedules to minimize costs and maximize revenues;
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for mine operations, including resource definitions and reports;
  • Establish and monitor grade control, reconciliation, and production reporting procedures;
  • Manage the operational budget and sustain capital requirements;
  • Promote a culture of safe production and environmental awareness throughout the mining department;
  • Structure the mining department and provide direction for the operational plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering;
  • 15 years' of experience working in a large-scale open pit mining environment with 10 years of management experience;
  • Knowledge and understanding of all Ontario health, safety, and environmental acts and legislation related to mining operations;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
