Course Overview:
This course focuses on contemporary metal-mediated (inorganic) reactions that are pivotal in organic synthesis. It encompasses advanced applications of organometallic chemistry and explores selected solid-state compounds, including metal-organic frameworks, nanoparticles, and their implications in separation, catalysis, and diagnostics.
Estimated Number of Positions: 1 position. *Availability is contingent upon actual course enrollment and is not guaranteed.
Projected Course Enrollment: 24 students
Estimated Work Hours: 35 hours
Class Schedule:
Appointment Duration: September 2024 – December 2024
Compensation: CUPE3902 Unit 3 Salaries. The rates specified in the collective agreement will apply.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry is essential. A solid understanding of the course content is necessary. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in grading assignments, quizzes, tests, and/or final examinations in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry is advantageous for consistent evaluation of student work in accordance with institutional standards. Strong communication skills are also required.
Responsibilities: The role involves leading tutorial sessions, grading assignments, quizzes, term tests, and/or final examinations. Additional responsibilities may include supervising term tests and/or final exams.
