We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Maintenance & Asset Management team at Teck Resources Limited. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of copper by optimizing our assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in hands-on problem-solving for process reliability issues.
  2. Support key performance indicators (KPIs) set by our operations team.
  3. Contribute to the development of reliability standards and energy-saving initiatives.
  4. Lead various aspects of electrical engineering projects, change management, and maintenance processes while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to asset lifecycle planning and maintenance efforts.
  2. Maintain standards for electrical assets.
  3. Develop energy-saving initiatives.
  4. Support the implementation of our sustainability strategy.
  5. Lead all phases of electrical engineering change management, including planning, design, construction, supervision, and commissioning.
  6. Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations and develop corrective actions.
  7. Refine predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  8. Develop detailed plans for complex projects and conduct Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  9. Lead small capital reliability improvement projects.
  10. Stay updated on predictive technologies for early detection of equipment failures.
  11. Electrical Engineering for capital and maintenance projects.
  12. Contribute to Asset life cycle planning and continual maintenance.
  13. Create detailed plans for unique complex jobs.
  14. Conduct FMEAs (Failure Mode Effects Analysis).
  15. Lead small capital reliability energy-saving improvement projects from start to finish.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  2. Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  3. Minimum three years' experience in an industrial setting.
  4. Experience in project management.
  5. Experience in mining is an asset.
  6. Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD; experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX is an asset.
  7. Proven experience in outage coordination or related roles within the mining industry.
  8. Strong project management skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial management.
  11. P6 and MS project experience an asset.
  12. Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to coach and mentor.
  13. Previous experience with mobile mining equipment, Crushing Mills as well as site project experience.
  14. Strong knowledge of different mining operation and maintenance processes and technologies.
  15. Previous experience working within CMMS software; experience with Maximo not mandatory but considered an asset.
  16. Ability to lead and collaborate across several departments and disciplines.
  17. Strong interpersonal, influential, and collaborative skills.
  18. Effective communication skills, written and oral.
