Job Objective
The role is accountable for the management and successful implementation of safe and efficient warehouse and delivery operations within the branch, ensuring exceptional service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive)
The individual must be capable of executing the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Support the Warehouse Manager in recruiting, scheduling, training, mentoring, and assessing both new and existing personnel; assist in the formulation and enforcement of internal policies and procedures, particularly regarding Safety and Health standards;
- Determine the appropriate handling of incoming and outgoing tasks within the warehouse;
- Facilitate coordination among warehouse staff, trucking personnel, and all interactions with customers and vendors;
- Aid in the communication between the warehouse and sales office to ensure timely and efficient deliveries to clients;
- Ensure that all materials provided meet Code/Industry standards, customer inspection criteria, specifications, and contractual obligations;
- Identify quality issues and take corrective actions as necessary;
- Foster a positive and effective working relationship with manufacturers and both internal and external customers;
- Perform duties of Warehouse Associate and Truck Driver, including emergency delivery runs as required by branch needs;
- Maintain confidentiality regarding supervisory responsibilities and sensitive pricing and contract information;
- Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned;
- Exercise reasonable care for the safety and health of oneself and others; report any workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.
Education, Experience & Skills Required
Any combination of qualifications that provides the necessary knowledge and abilities to perform essential duties and responsibilities will be considered.
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) along with additional relevant training; comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations;
- Familiarity with MRC Global materials (such as pipes, valves, and fittings);
- Capability to operate and obtain certification for forklifts, order pickers, cranes, and other standard warehouse material handling equipment;
- Proven proficiency in utilizing computers and software applications;
- Understanding of fundamental warehouse functions and procedures;
- Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives by influencing and engaging others while performing in a supervisory capacity.
Additional Qualifications
- Must possess the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status;
- Proficiency in reading and speaking the English language to effectively communicate, understand safety instructions, and respond to inquiries;
- Ability to comprehend and adhere to MRC Global guidelines and expectations, including the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.
