Health Information Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Information Management Specialist to join our team at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. As a key member of our Health Information Systems department, you will be responsible for coding and abstracting patient data with accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Coding and abstracting patient data using CIHI's Guidelines/Principles and Ontario MOH guidelines
- Ensuring data quality and accuracy through data validation processes
- Generating reports and queries to identify discrepancies in the MED2020 system
- Communicating with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff on documentation issues
- Staying up-to-date with changes in coding practices and hospital policies and procedures
- Graduate of an approved Health Information Management Program
- Member in good standing with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) and Certified with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM)
- 3 years' experience coding/abstracting with DAD
- Previous experience working in Release of Information is considered an asset
