Job Summary:The Educational Counsellor will provide guidance and support to students, parents, and teachers in matters related to education, career, and personal development. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide academic guidance and counselling to students, including advice on course selection, career options, and post-secondary education opportunities.
- Counsel students on personal and social issues, such as time management, goal setting, and stress management.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure that students receive comprehensive support and guidance.
- Coordinate the provision of counselling and information services to students, parents, and teachers.
- Administer and interpret standardized intelligence, aptitude, and interest tests to help students identify their strengths and areas for improvement.
- Refer students to other specialized services when required, such as mental health support or career coaching.
- Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences, and workshops to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
- Develop and implement guidance and counselling programs to support student success.
- Visit colleges and secondary schools to provide academic information to prospective students, their parents, and educational institutions.
- Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, and symposia to share knowledge and expertise with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as education, counselling, or psychology.
- 1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as teaching, counselling, or student services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Willingness to travel and participate in educational conferences and workshops.
- Free parking available on site.
- Permanent full-time position with 40 hours per week.
- Work language: English.
