Job Summary:

As a skilled Industrial Equipment Technician at BWX Technologies, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities. Your expertise in mechanical and electrical maintenance will be essential in troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximizing productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on plant equipment, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints, diagrams, and instructions to identify and address equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve equipment-related problems and implement preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment performance data.
  • Interface with suppliers and external support personnel to source equipment and expertise as needed.
Requirements:
  • Certificate of Qualification in Industrial Mechanic and Industrial Electrician.
  • Level One (Gas Technician GT-1) certification preferred but not required.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office components and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Fundamental understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs (CMMS) and ability to troubleshoot complex industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read equipment blueprints/schematics and safely operate power/hand tools and related safety equipment.
  • Availability to work all shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and overtime as required.
