About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Assistant to join our team at Orchard View Builders Ltd. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, Unload, and Transport Materials: Assist in the safe and efficient transportation of construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Erect and Dismantle Forms and Scaffolding: Help set up and take down concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Mix, Pour, and Spread Materials: Assist in the mixing, pouring, and spreading of materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • Support Medical Examiner: Provide assistance to the medical examiner as needed.
  • Assist in Framing and Building: Help with framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
  • Level Earth and Pave Asphalt: Assist in leveling earth to fine grade specifications and paving and raking asphalt.
  • Demolish Buildings and Clean Up: Assist in the demolition of buildings and clean up of construction sites.
  • Operate Equipment: Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
  • Direct Traffic: Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
Requirements
  • Valid Driver's Licence: Possess a valid driver's licence.
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Physical Demands: Be physically demanding and able to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to Detail: Possess good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Work Conditions: Work in a variety of weather conditions and be able to adapt to changing work environments.
