We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our equipment rental branch.
About the Role
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
- Inspecting, servicing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of construction equipment, including earth-moving equipment, compaction equipment, and aerial equipment.
- Performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and making required repairs.
- Testing repaired equipment for proper performance.
- Maintaining documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders in a thorough and timely manner.
- Adhering to all company Health and Safety Policies.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience, preferably working on a variety of construction equipment.
- A valid Class 5 license with a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract.
- A complete set of tools (or a willingness to build one).
- The ability to work overtime as required and participate in an on-call rotation.
- A strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
- A strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.
- Flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
