Creative Arts Educator

Job Summary:

The District of Saanich is seeking up to 4 visual art instructors to fill in for art programs for all ages at the Cedar Hill Recreation and Arts Centre, as well as art programs and events through Community Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging visual art programs for children, youth, and adults
  • Plan and prepare program materials, including lesson plans and art supplies
  • Lead classes and workshops, promoting creativity and skill-building
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure program success and participant satisfaction
  • Contribute to program evaluation and improvement

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 10
  • Three months teaching experience in the area of instruction
  • Certification and training in the area of instruction, in accordance with industry standards
  • Satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS)
  • Emergency First-Aid and CPR "C" certification (an asset)
