About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our team in the Nutrition and Food Services department. As a Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition advice and care to patients, families, and communities. You will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to develop and implement nutrition plans, and provide education and support to patients and families. This is a temporary, part-time position with a short assignment duration.

We are looking for a Dietitian who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for providing leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, including the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition and medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process. You will also participate in the Dietetic Practicum and Internship program, including preceptoring and mentoring Dietetic Students.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized university, a Dietetic Internship Program, and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists. You will also have a minimum of one year of working experience as a Dietitian, preferably in inpatient clinical nutrition. Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition, and experience counseling patients are also essential. You will be able to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the interprofessional healthcare team.

About You

Compensation and Benefits
