About the Opportunity

WSP Canada is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Winnipeg. As an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing geotechnical engineering projects, providing technical expertise, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct geotechnical and geo-environmental projects, including field investigations, data interpretation, and technical report writing.
  • Manage projects of various sizes, providing technical input, mentorship, and support to junior staff.
  • Work on or manage projects involving slope stability, mining, foundation investigations, construction oversight, and project management.
  • Collaborate with the materials testing department, supervise field programs, and prepare technical reports.
  • Liaise with clients, other offices, and senior staff to provide growth opportunities and gain additional mentoring and assistance.
  • Undertake self-development through training or course attendance.
Requirements
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in civil (Geotechnical) or Geological Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Postgraduate degree (Master's or Ph.D) in Geotechnical Engineering would be an asset.
  • Registration (or eligible for immediate registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with the Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical engineering experience relevant to a variety of projects.
  • Strong written and oral communication (English) skills with strong skills in report writing and proposal writing.
  • Strong leadership skills with a genuine desire to mentor and develop individuals and teams.
  • Unrestricted Class 5 Driver's License that is valid in the province of Manitoba.
  • Desire to provide excellent practical client service and a commitment to technical excellence.
