Job Title: Detailer - Structural Steel Drafter

We are seeking a highly skilled Detailer - Structural Steel Drafter to join our team at Apex Structural Design Ltd.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing engineering designs and drawings, developing and preparing design sketches, and completing documentation packages and drawing sets. They will also examine drawings for conformity and errors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare engineering designs and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Develop and prepare design sketches and documentation packages
  • Examine drawings for conformity and errors
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in steel detailing or a related field
  • College/CEGEP diploma in a related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Tekla, Autodesk REVIT, and other CAD software
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and structural engineering principles
  • Ability to relocate for this position
